Don Naipe Productions is back in action with Tute Medio, a timeless gem of Spanish card games.

Tute Medio is a popular variation of Tute designed for three players, offering a delightful gaming experience. It is played with a Spanish deck of 36 cards (eliminating the Twos from the classic 40-card deck), engaging in an indefinite number of rounds until a loser emerges. Each round involves the distribution of all cards and follows the standard rules of Tute. At the end of each round, scores are tallied, penalizing the player who lands in the middle score range. The game concludes when a player reaches a predetermined score threshold.

While the standard rule dictates that the player with the intermediate score loses the round, there are three notable exceptions:
1) Failing to capture any trick results in a loss.
2) Earning over 100 points leads to defeat (with the previous exception).
3) A tie between two players results in defeat (with previous exceptions).

Another distinctive feature of Tute Medio is declaring "cantes" at the table when a King and Knight of the same suit are played together. The initial declaration equals forty points, subsequently turning that suit into a trump. Subsequent "cantes" merit twenty points each. This element of "cantes" adds complexity and excitement to the game, potentially altering a player's score unexpectedly.
